Thursday evening, August 8, from 6 pm until we close, we will host the VallartaScene Forum weekly meet & greet. This is a simple gathering of locals and visitors with the sole purposes of socializing and having fun. Just show up. Reservations are not needed and there are no requirements for participation: Everyone is welcome. Strangers are even more welcome. If you need something to celebrate, it’s Emiliano Zapata’s birthday. If you don’t, it’s just a fun night.
In the spirit of revolution, we will be serving good, cheap drinks and an all-you-can-eat buffet:
- “Tierra y Libertad” Spicy Sweet & Sour Orange-Mango-Piña Chicken Wings and Breast nuggets.
- “Es mejor morir de pie que vivir de rodillas” Chow Mein with Pork and 7 Vegetables
- “¡ Revolución !” Jasmine Rice
- Dessert
The price of this buffet is 70 pesos. You do not need to purchase this buffet or anything else to attend this meetup.
We have a full bar with cold Pacifica, Corona or Victoria cervezas @ 15 pesos. “Healthy” well drinks are 20 pesos and shelf drinks are 30+. Real (fresh squeezed limes, good tequila) margaritas are 35 pesos. A good house wine is 40 pesos (or 150 a bottle) and you may BYOB of wine if you prefer something different than our house wines (we charge no corkage fee). Check out our full BAR MENU. We are constantly changing it and we are trying to offer the best quality food and drink at the lowest prices.
The tourist season is over and the meetups are now smaller and more comfortable. It may rain and a thunderstorm is always a bonus. Smoking is allowed on the outside balcony. The buses run until about 10 pm and we can call a reliable taxi for you if you wish. A taxi to Centro or Olas Altas is usually 60 pesos, not much more than the bus, per person, if you fill the cab.
- Our hostess is Srta. Soladara.
- Our guest waitress/bartender for the evening is Karen of Crazy Beaches.
- Our guest chef is Mama Mordida.
Except for these VallartaScene Meetups and our weekly Figure Drawing Class, Mordidas is closed this month of August for renovations so we are keeping this buffet simple. Mordidas will resume general operations on August 30.
