The decor is bohemian. Nothing fancy, but it’s comfortable and functional. Everything works. No view. If you live in this apartment, you become part of the view, part of the neighborhood. There is street noise. You have to like Mexico to live here, not the travel brochure Mexico, with its pampered detachment, but the Mexico of reality.

On the ground floor of the building that once housed the restaurant/bar, Mordidas, the apartment is very secure and has a private entrance. It is on flat land and is across the street from the Rio Cuale.
It is on the Paso Ancho (C-04) bus line (6am – 10pm) for easy access to shopping and the Malecon. The bus stop half a block away. More varied buses are a 2 block walk away. Taxis and Uber and Indriver are readily available 24/7.
The colonia has several tiendas, a KIOSKO, several small restaurants, a hardware store, a laundromat, a butcher shop, a bakery, a fruit/vegetable market and several taco stands, etc., all within 2-3 blocks.
The apartment is not in the Tourist Zone. It is in a working-class neighborhood about a 300 minute walk or a 10 minute taxi or bus ride to Los Muertos Beach or to the Malecon.
In the daytime the whole neighborhood can be a little “noisy” to an unaccustomed Northerner’s ears and the taco stands on the street stay open past midnight. You will probably hear roosters in the morning. It’s quiet as the river at night.
The road was recently paved and was the old road to Guadalajara (but is no longer used for this destination, having been replaced by a modern highway on the other side of town). Now this road generally serves the ranches and farms and the Rio Cuale Zip Line farther up the Rio Cuale basin.
The owners also live in the building, above the old restaurant.
The rent is $6,000 pesos per month for a yearly contract for one or two people. Long term is preferred but we will consider other options. Rent will be higher for shorter periods.
A one month security deposit is required and the amount may be higher if you have a pet. References required.
The decor is Post Bohemian. All appliances are modern.
