I’ve been a little slack in keeping up this yearly journal. I’ve missed about 5 years…
Much has happened and changed along the way.
We’ve had no problems with our license or with the authorities. These parts of the effort have been easy.
We’ve expanded considerably. We’ve been through than a few employees and have settled with Alex and Sheyla who have been with us for 2 – 3 years. They had become like family.ws
In our 5th year of operation, May 2018, I was hospitalized for 2 weeks in the ICU with pneumonia, toxic shock and 3 heart attacks. The doctor said that I had “died” 3 times. But after a month or so rest I reopened Mordidas for another year.
We officially closed in October, 2019.
And now, in November, 2019, I am opening on a limited scale of one night a week. It seems to be impossible for me to just walk away from something that I’ve spent years developing. Mordidas has become a major part of my life. Sarah, my partner, totally disapproves and claims that she will not work at all in the new effort. I respect that.
So here it goes…
Mordidas will be open only on Sundays beginning on November 24, and for special occasions like holiday celebrations, Prime Rib dinners and strange events. Since I have no help at this point, Mordidas will be simply a bar with a bit of light food. I’m’ tempted to call it the Old Gringos’ Social Club.
When (if) I can hire help, the food aspect will change.
