Thursday, November 28, 6 – 8 pm +/-
This potluck dinner is now full.
The listing below is your confirmation.
I will also email a reminder a week before.
Thank you all. This should be a memorable gathering.
For the past 14 years, Sarah & I have hosted a VallartaScene Forum (but now a Mordidas) family-style Thanksgiving Potluck Dinner. This is our way of giving back a little to those who have supported us here at Mordidas and on the VallartaScene Forum. Many of you are more like family to us than you can imagine.
Below is the illustration that I used for this Thanksgiving dinner last year (2018) and it was far more prophetic than I had anticipated.
On Thursday, November 28, 2019, we will continue this tradition. This dinner is announced On the VallartaScene Forum, through the Mordidas website and on the MordidasPV Facebook page. It is by reservation and will fill quickly (FULL).
Dinner will be served from 6 to 8 pm, depending on the speed of the birds, the condition of the chef(s) and… fate. The door will be unlocked at 5 for drinks, etc. No early birds, please. The boss now says that she wants no one here before 5 or I’m going to be fired.
Sarah and I will provide the turkeys, country-style mashed potatoes, some dressing and gravy.
You can provide a side, salad or desert or ??? if you have special recipes that you would like to share. Bring enough to feed about 8-10 people. We prefer that people bring homemade rather that store bought food but we realize that some of you are living in hotel rooms without kitchens or just cannot or will not be able to cook. Approximately 30-40 people will be attending. From extensive past experience, there will be plenty of food.
A list of the dishes being brought is being compiled below. It is a rough idea of what different people are bringing so we don’t overlap too much.
Louise will be bartending and we will sell beer, wine, margaritas and cocktails at our normal low prices. The food will be self-serve buffet-style and “free.” Sheyla will be serving the drinks, acting as bouncer, etc. Feel free to bring your own bottle as long as you are willing to share it with others.
There is no cost for this thanksgiving dinner other than what you share and what (if) you drink. Tipping Sheyla & Louise, though, would be a really nice gesture.
We have space for about 40 people (+/-). We will be staggering the turkeys so it should be possible to come as late as 8 pm and still get a good meal Nothing is “to go.” The purpose of this feast is to share food together.
There will be no smoking until after about 8:39 pm. Very well behaved dogs are welcome.
