The building construction is not finished, The painting is still in the primer stage, the permits are not yet in order but the ceiling fans are working and we are getting extremely anxious and ready to bolt the paddocks.
It’s time for a party!
Thursday, September 13, from 6 to 9 pm (+/-) we will host a combination party/VallartaScene.com meetup. Everyone is invited. The food is free. You BYOB so the drinks are “almost free.”
Since this is a quasi high class restaurant, we will probably serve quasi delicacies like garlic, butter, olive, blue cheese, bacon stuffed mini tater skins, Raro meat balls, pulled pork sliders (“regular” and muy caliente), deviled eggs, Mexi-caprese canapes (cherry tomatoes, basil leaves and goat cheese panela), chicken liver canapes and, if I can squeeze in a trip to the supplier, fresh oysters on the half shell. Feel free to bring snacks to share or even tacos from Rosa’s taco stand across the street (Rosa makes the best tacos in town).
For those that are too lazy or too old or crippled to carry booze bottles, there will also be cold cerveza for a 10 peso propina and simple mixed drinks for a 20 peso propina. If you need/want/like something special to drink, you have to bring it and make it yourself. For those who do BYOB, we will have ice, coke, zero, tonic water, limons, etc.
This promises to be the cheapest, strangest show in town on this particular Pre-Revolution Day celebration Thursday night. Viva Mexico!!
Remember that in the morning following this debacle there will a charro parade starting at about 11 am near Parque Lazaro Cardenas and heading north through town. Wear your cowboy boots if you plan on making this a late night / early morning affair.
