The building construction is almost finished, The painting is almost finished, the permits are almost in order, the fans are working, the Cuale River is flowing nicely, we are getting extremely anxious (again – see Pre-Opening Party 1) and we are ready to bolt the paddocks.
¡It’s time for a party! It has been a year since we celebrated our first Pre-Opening Party – on September 13, 2012 – and we are still in the pre-opening stage of this project. jaja
To keep up with our “progress,” check out our blog at How to Start a Bar.
Thursday, September 12, starting at 6pm, we will host our Second Annual Pre-Opening Party. Everyone is invited but please RSVP before Wednesday, September 11 so that we know how much food to prepare.
If you wish to eat oysters, there is a 100 peso cover charge requested for a wide selection of food ranging from the oysters (live – steamed – Rockefeller) to a hot dog bar with all the fixins’ (chili, potato salad, condiments, etc). The oysters are our standard fresh, sweet-water babies and the hot dogs are succulent all-beef beauties. It is only a 40 peso cover if you do not want oysters.
As a public service, there will be a no-host bar with cold Corona and Pacifico for 13 pesos a bottle and simple mixed drinks for 25 pesos. Our stock of booze is limited to Absolut, Appleton, Havana Club and El Jimador. Sorry. We will also have 30 peso glasses of wine (from a modest, drinkable selection).
This promises to be the 2nd cheapest, liveliest show in town on this Thursday the 12th Pre-Revolution Day celebration. Viva Mexico!!
Remember that on Saturday morning there will a charro parade starting at about 11am near Parque Lazaro Cardenas and heading north through town. On Sunday night will be the Grito (and accompanying fireworks at about midnight). On Monday there will be another parade through town celebrating Independence Day.
