The idea for Cafe Mordida originally coalesced at around November 2011. About a year later we had thought that we would be open in a few weeks but the Puerto Vallarta city government changed hands and the process was made considerably more complicated by the new conservative mayor. Met with this first major road block we held a pre-opening party anyhow. Since were had no licenses, it was a BYOB and, since we did not at that time have our commercial kitchen, it was a pot luck and snack type of party. 1st Pre-Opening Party
A year later we still had no license but we were ready so we had a pre-opening party as a speakeasy. The drinks and buffet were very cheap. 2nd Annual Pre-Opening Party
Now we are into the third year of this concept and we have our license and have just completed our 1st season as a bar/restaurant so we are having our 3rd (p)Re-Opening Party on Thursday, September 11, for our weekly VallartaScene Forum Meetup.
